With winter approaching at a rapid pace, there is given dates that you must go on with your significant other or possible boyfriend or girlfriend. Some of these ideas can be used universally throughout all of the seasons, but others are strictly for the winter months. Put it this way, if you don't do these cute dates with your love, then what's the purpose of winter?

1. Carriage rides

I personally live for these carriage rides. It's just something about the warmth of the blanket that is provided and the love you feel when your significant other is sitting next to you. The white horse and the carriage driver aren't bad either.

2. Ice skating

10/10 would recommend. This is my favorite past time, and you can never pass up an opportunity to glide across the smooth ice and hold your significant other's hand (for support so you don't fall of course.)

3. Go see Christmas lights

It's always fun to see what the freaks put out for Christmas decorations, let's be honest.

4. Cuddling and drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace

As long as you make it a priority to not set yourself or the blanket on fire, this is a true classic that will allow you to have time to talk to your significant other and get into the holiday spirit all at the same time.

5. Game night & watching Christmas movies

There is so many true classic Christmas movies out there, just pick a few and you'll be the set the whole night. And if you feel like taking a break, there is always playing board games. By the fireplace of course.

6. Make a gingerbread house

Try not to eat all of the candy and frosting before the actual house is built.

7. Christmas religious service with the fam

This is when all of the real "Keesters" come out, so make sure to get there early to reserve your spot within the pews.

8. Hockey game

I'm a sucker for watching a good fight happening at a hockey game. Take time and money to enjoy a nice hockey game whether it is professional or collegiate.

9. Love Letters for the Future

Now, this may sound super cheesy and unrealistic unless you are in a long-term relationship, but hear me out. If there is ever a moment in time where the two of you are alone for a long amount of time, wouldn't it be nice to pull out a love note from your person reassuring yourself how much you adore them?

10. The Penny Date

I saved the best for last, just to make you read the whole article. How the penny date works is you have your significant other (or yourself) pick a number between 1-50. This denotes how many turns you ultimately make. Each side of the penny represents if you make a left or right turn. Heads is left, tails is right. Once you make all of the turns that you or your date have designated, then you make a date out of wherever you are. This is a super creative way of getting to know the person you are with, and being spontaneous.

There you have it. 10 super cute winter date ideas for you to try out with your significant other or the next person you decide to date.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
