I have been seriously dating the same guy for almost two years now. I may not know everything about relationships, and I am not an expert by any means, but I have heard many stories, read many books, and witnessed many relationships. I like to think I know what a good girlfriend does for her boyfriend.

1. She respects her boyfriend.

There are boundaries in every relationship. There is a level of respect that is different for everyone when it comes to phones, plans, talking, and sharing secrets.

2. She reminds him how important he is.

This seems like such a simple thing. It seems like girls always need reassurance, but it is nice to remind your significant other how important they are to you and the world. Everyone deserves to feel wanted and important.

3. She supports him in all his goals, hobbies and dreams.

Whether he plays recreational sports, climbing the corporate ladder, or has a traveling bucket list, she always supports him! Supporting one another is such an important aspect of a relationship!

4. She takes the time to learn his favorites and interests.

What is his favorite color? Does he like peanut butter? Who is his idol? What is his favorite pass time? Being compatible comes with having common interests!

5. She surprises him.

Those silly tweets we see of boyfriends surprising their girlfriends with bags Victoria Secret are nice, but what about him? It's not always material items, sometimes it's a surprise date or a surprise party. Keeping him on his toes just like he keeps her on her toes.

6. She laughs at his bad jokes.

Lol. Yeahhhhhhhhh.

7. She understands "guys night" is "guys night."

Just like she needs "girls night," he needs "guys night."

8. She doesn't hover.

He doesn't need two moms. He just needs one mom and one awesome girlfriend.

9. She gives great back rubs!

After a long day of work, she still has enough energy to make sure he is comfortable. Besides, it's better than a masseuse!

10. She respects the other girls that are FRIENDS with him. (I am not talking about those sketchy DM girls but real friends)

Sometimes guys have girl best friends. Chances are, these girls were around before the girlfriend. If these girl-friends wanted to do him, they would've before the girlfriend entered the frame. No worries.

11. She is equal.

She is a princess and he is a prince. They are equal in their relationship, not one on top of the other.

12. She serenades him with radio karaoke!

Oh come on, he know it's adorable when she sings in the wrong key.

13. She listens to him.

Guys have to rant too. Guy shave problems too. Sometimes guys just have a bad day. She cares enough to be silent and be all ears. She may also have some solutions or back rubs!

14. She pushes him to be a better man.

She changes him for the better and he loves her for that. He isn't the same man he was when they started dating, he is even better.

15. She forgives.

We are all human. It takes a mature lady to accept mistakes and forgive them, big or small.

16. She loves him.

No matter the disagreements, the difficult situations, the flaws, the mistakes, she still loves him no matter what. Who could ask for a better girlfriend?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
