5 Things Military Girlfriends Are EXHAUSTED Of Hearing

NO, you have no clue how I feel.

If I hear anyone say any of these again, I might just go insane.

Call me mean, cruel, the devil, or whatever you want. No military girlfriend, boyfriend, and even spouse wants to hear you say these to them. So, heed this warning and stop saying these five things:

1. "I have no clue how you do it."

I’m not superhuman, I’m just a regular human who knows that it’s worth waiting for the person I love to come home. We, unlike you, also know how to work through most anything you throw at us. Your suggestions that I should leave him are irrelevant, very unnecessary, and rude. So, next time you say this to me and tell me your crazy suggestions, maybe you’re the one who should leave. And by that, I mean leave me and my relationship alone!

2. "At least he won’t cheat on you because it’s mostly men on base and military women aren’t attractive."

This is one of the rudest things you could possibly ever say to me. 1: This disrespects me and my significant other. Why would you even bring up the possibility of him cheating? If I thought he had intentions of cheating, why would I be with him? New flash: he doesn’t and I trust him more than you probably ever will trust your significant other. 2: This is super disrespectful to all the women in our armed forces. Yes, we have many beautiful bad*ss women who make it possible for you and your ignorance can sleep in peace at night.

3. "My boyfriend hasn’t texted me in an hour, I don’t know what to do."

Stop right there. Now read these words carefully. SHUT. UP. He hasn’t texted you in an hour; he will answer eventually. I’m lucky if I get a text or phone call a day or even once a week. So, stop complaining to me... I don’t want to hear it anymore.

4. "Why did you let him join the military? I would never do that!"

Relationships are not controlling or like a dictatorship. If his goal is to be a US Marine, I’ll be right there helping him achieve his goal. I will never tell him he can’t fulfill his dreams and goals in life. I will help him reach each and every one of his goals and dreams no matter what. So, if your thought process is not letting your significant other join the military because it’s their dream then maybe they shouldn’t be with your controlling ass.

5. "It’s okay, trust me, I know how you feel!"

NO. You have no clue how I feel. Okay, your boyfriend leaves for a week or two due to his job. Mine's gone for 11 months out of the year. Your boyfriend misses one holiday? Mine misses every single one. Everyone has their hardships and long-distance relationship issues, but no you do not and never will know how I feel.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
