Boys and Thanksgiving food, two things you love to hate. Both can make you happy and excited at first, but then grossed out and disappointed in yourself after. But hey, you love them anyway.
College is a great time to explore yourself, as well as the people around you. You’re exposed to all different types of people, so one of them has got to be the type for you. Likewise, the Thanksgiving dinner is filled with all sorts of type of food, one has got to be the one you’re going back to for seconds.
Hopefully, this breakdown helps you find out what kind of snack you’re hoping to get this Thanksgiving.
The Boy-Next-Door: Turkey.
Alright, the classic Thanksgiving food. It’s never the very first thing you want to get on your plate, but once you take a bite of it you’re never disappointed. Sure, it’s not really exciting, but it’s versatile. Want some gravy on it? Tastes great. Cranberry sauce? Even better. Want it plain? Still good. Turkey will never let you down.
The Bad Boy: Mashed Potatoes.
The first thing we always go for, that carb-filled, gravy-covered goodness. We always put a lot of it on our plate and keep coming back for seconds. We know it’s bad for us, and we always feel bad having too much of it, but we can’t get enough. They taste good and always get the job done when you’re feeling hungry.
The One-Night Stand: Cranberry Sauce.
You cover it all over everything on the plate and you eat as much of it as possible during dinner. But once Thanksgiving is over? That leftover can of cranberry sauce gets shoved to the back of the pantry until next year. It’s great for the holiday, but you never really want it a week later anymore.
The Frat Boy: Mac and Cheese.
Alright, it can be quite cheesy sometimes, but they always bring a smile to your face. There are all sorts of types of mac and cheese. You can have some with spiral noodles, elbow noodles, some that are baked, some that are spicy. Every one is different, but they're all pretty much the same thing.
The Friend-Zone: Stuffing.
Stuffing is so underrated and it knows it. You love it, but you never want to commit to a lot of it. It tastes great, but you already have other carbs on your plate so you don’t want to overload on too much. There’s nothing wrong with stuffing at all, but you never really eat it after the holidays either.
The Sweetheart: Pumpkin Pie.
It’s sweet, but not too sweet that it’s overpowering. You can put some whip cream, or maybe even a scoop of ice cream; pumpkin pie does great with anything on top. Pumpkin pie takes care of your cravings in a way all the other foods couldn’t. It’s the thing you look forward to even before the Thanksgiving dinner started. After a whole meal, it’s nice to finally settle down with a nice slice of pumpkin pie.
