Girls handle heartbreak in a variety of ways. Some binge Nicholas Sparks flicks to get out a good cry, while others swear off romance and stick to action and violence.

My friends enjoy listening to sad music when they're upset, but I personally memorize the lyrics to a different rap song every time somebody pisses me off.

My point is different techniques work for different people.

A special thanks to my beautiful sorority sisters for sharing their tips for overcoming a breakup. I don't know what guy would be stupid enough to break up any of with these girls, but they definitely proved they learned something from it.

1. "Cry, seriously cry."

Allow yourself to be sad. A lot of people will say "Don't cry, he doesn't deserve your tears," but you lost someone important. It's OK to cry! Cry until you can't anymore, then remind yourself that you are indeed a bad b*tch and never look back.

2. "Say goodbye for real, don't let yourself hang on. "

In the words of Dua Lupa: "If you're under him, you ain't getting over him."

3. "Two words: retail therapy."

I have yet to find a man who makes me as happy as a good shopping spree.

4. "Put all his stuff in a box, then have a bonfire...."

5. "Cry a whole lot of tears and say a whole lot of prayers."

Remember that anything meant for you will not be taken from you, no matter how bad you thought you wanted it. God has a plan.

6. "Listen to "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo, and I promise it can cure any heartbreak."

7. "Surround yourself with people who care about you and spend time with your best friends."

When they tell you that you are worthy and valued, believe them. Let others pour into you. Talk it out, cry, yell or stay quiet...whatever you may need. Try to allow only a certain amount of time to talk about how awful he is, then enjoy yourself with your friends.

8. "Go dig deep through his mom's Facebook and find embarrassing childhood photos of him to remind yourself of who you are."

9. "Write down everything you're feeling."

Every detail. The good, the bad and the ugly and set it aside. Spend time doing things you love with the people you love and when you're ready, look back at that paper. Now you can see things from a whole new perspective. It just gets better.

10. "Get kicked out of your favorite bar or club."

11. "Make people smile. When you make other people happy, you'll be happy as well."

12. "Go on an adventure - I went to Italy and came back a new woman!"

Discover yourself in a new light and let yourself be free. Cry, laugh, explore and just allow yourself to let go of whatever you may be holding onto.

13. "Find your stability and anchor yourself in what you know is constant: God, your family and your best friends."

14. "Dig your key into the side of his pretty little souped up four-wheel drive."

Don't forget to carve your name into his leather seats (this is a joke, I'm aware that's illegal.)

15. "Confide in your mom."

Instead of just saying "men are trash," she will tell you what you really need to hear in times of anguish. She is your biggest support system and truly wants the best for you.

16. "Would you really want somebody who could even think twice about leaving you?"

Exactly. You want somebody who will never put themselves in a position to lose you. Obviously, this guy wasn't it. Next!

17. "Get your best friend, buy some cheap glass plates, drive to the middle of nowhere and throw them at the ground."

18. "Always stay true to yourself and never let your values slip away in a time of anger and heartache."

The more you feed into your pain, the more you'll start to lose yourself.

19. "Create the ultimate breakup playlist."

"Potential Breakup Song" by Aly & Aj, "Gives You Hell" by the All American Rejects and "So What?" by P!nk are all good places to start.

20. "Always remember: If you wanted to be with the wrong person this badly, imagine how good it will feel to be with the right one."

21. "Do whatever you think is right but in moderation."

If you think binge-watching Netflix is going to help you in the long run, then have at it. If you think indulging in your cravings will help you, then eat all the chocolate possible. That being said, don't let your bad habits take over your life just because one boy decided to end it. Your body needs love and care at the end of the day.

I hope these made you laugh, gave you comfort or something in between. Above all, remember there is a God who hears you, a God who loves you. Your life is already taken care of. You will love again, you will be OK again.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
