10 Things To Cuff Yourself To If You're Alone During Cuffing Season

Your dog, mozzarella sticks, the list goes on.

Another year has come and gone and cuffing season is back in full force. Don't know what cuffing season is? Sure you do. Picture it: the weather gets colder and it starts to get dark earlier.

Next thing you know everyone suddenly has a boyfriend/girlfriend seemingly out of nowhere.

Couples are spotted all over campus or on Instagram and you are left ~uncuffed~ yet again. As a girl with 20 years of uncuffed experience, I've comprised a list of 10 things I'll be cuffing this season instead of a boy (unless one wants to change my streak? no? just checking).

1. Your dog.

They'll always cuddle with you, play with you, and listen to you no matter how long you drone on for. Dogs>boys any day of the week.

2. Mozzarella Sticks

They come in all shapes and sizes and will always make you feel warm and loved. Also, hot cheese can definitely cure anything and won't ever break your heart.

3. A Boyfriend Pillow

Need I say more?

4. A Justin Bieber Poster

Baby Biebs is the key to my heart. Blast some throwback jams and I swear you'll be one less lonely girl (see what I did there?).

5. A New Netflix Series

This is great for all levels of commitment. If you wanted a short cuff, choose a show that's one or two seasons long. Interested in a long-term cuff? Go for that 8 season show.

6. 90s RomComs

Get swept up by all the classics like She's All That, Clueless, and 10 Things I Hate About You. Sure, it may make you more depressed but watch them anyway. Heath Ledger will save your soul.

7. A New Sweatshirt

A little retail therapy in the form of a brand new sweatshirt is better than a boy any day. That new sweatshirt feel is warmer than any hug (except maybe from Zac Efron but that's TBD).

8. Water

Stay hydrated with water if you can't have love. Clearer skin, more energy, and it can improve your mood? I'm sold.

9. Halloween Candy

Stock up on your seasonal pumpkin shaped favorites. Halloween candy weirdly lasts forever so buy in bulk to extend your cuffing season all year round.

10. Your Bffs

Probably the most obvious of all, your gfs will always have your back and make anytime a good time when they're with you. Choose a quality night with the girls and you won't regret it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
