So you and your S.O. are looking for a date idea but you can't think of anything new. I've been there and know it can hard to think of something that both of you will enjoy, so here is a list of some "different" date ideas.

1. Take a road trip

This can be long, short, in state, or out of state and take you almost anywhere.

2. Go to a concert

Find one coming close to you or make a whole trip out of it but find a concert that you both want to go see and have a great time.

3. Have a picnic

For a cheaper option make some little sandwiches or something similar and go to the park, lake, or local hiking area for a picnic lunch.

4. Take a hike

If you don't want to eat, find somewhere and just go hiking around. Whether it's a small trail in your backyard or in the mountains, get out and walk together.

5. Go bowling, laser tagging or to an arcade

Go to your local bowling alley and have a little competition. Many bowling places may also have laser tag and/or and arcade so go try those out too. Winner picks next date night.

6. Try ice skating

While this may not be for everyone it can be a really fun and cute date idea. Sometimes these places are limited but if you're looking for a different date idea give it a shot.

7. Find a carnival

If you're looking for a more classical yet underrated date try finding a carnival or fair to go to. Ride the ferris wheel, play the silly games, and try to win a stuffed animal.

8. The penny date

This isn't a specific date but it could be super fun. Get dressed up to go out but maybe also take a comfy set of clothes. Pick a number between 10 and 20 and that will be how many times you flip the coin. Whenever you get to an intersection flip the coin heads turn right and tales turn left. Do this until you reach your number then stop. Look around and make a date wherever you are.

9. Go to an aquarium

Going to an aquarium may sound like it's overdone but it can be really fun if you have a good attitude. You can act like kids again and just enjoy being together and having fun.

10. Go mini-golfing or to a driving range

Either of these can super fun and I personally would go for the mini-golf because I know I would make a fool of myself if I tried it for real but if it's your thing go for it.

11. Go fishing

If you and your S.O. like the outdoors, give fishing a try. You may not catch anything but the time spent together is worth it.

12. Find a firing range

Look for a firing range at a tactical store or anywhere really and go shooting. Try out a new gun and let the bullets fly (safely of course).

13. Ride go-carts

You could possibly combine this with mini-golfing depending on where you go but a little competition is good and can be tons of fun. Find somewhere to race go-carts and play arcade games and just spend the evening together.

14. Go to the zoo or a drive-thru safari

Head to the zoo or a drive-thru safari and see some exotic animals and maybe learn something new. Take the train ride around the zoo or feed the animals right out of your car in the safari. Either one is sure to be a lot of fun!

15. Go on a scavenger hunt

Make a list of things or people to find go to a mall or a park and see who can get the most marked off the list.

16. Go off-roading

If you have a truck, jeep, or ATV or if you have access to one go out and find some trails to ride together.

17. Have a game night

Make some finger foods and gather all the old favorites like clue or trouble and get the new ones like SKIP-BO or Phase 10 and have a fun night in. You can also invite friends over and have a little party.

18. Go to a baseball game

Whether it be a major league or minor league a baseball game is a classic fun date. Get there early to watch warm-ups and make a whole evening out of it. Make sure to get ballpark food and a souvenir cup!

Whether you are looking for a new date to add to your rotation or starting something new, these date ideas are sure to be fun and different from your normal dinner and movie.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
