7 Dates Around LA You Need To Plan For Your Valentine's Day
SkySpace Los Angeles

Whether you're ready to spend a romantic Valentine's Day with your significant other, or you're flying solo with your squad- V-Day is a great excuse to #treatyoself and the ones you care about.

I have visited a few spots on my own in Los Angeles (#singlelife) to bring you the best date spots for this Valentine's Day in LA.

1. Get a thrill by sliding down California

Why spend your Valentine's Day at a fancy old dinner when you can get your adrenaline rushing at OUW Skyspace? If you and your boo are risk takers, a 1,000-foot slide is your perfect bet.

If you totally aren't risk takers, mix it up and step out of your comfort zone!

2. Put on your hiking boots

Using LA as your playground, the vast amount of mountains allow for endless hours of hiking and exploring. What better way to get some one-on-one time with your S.O., than a hike in the middle of nowhere?

3. Get a taste of LA

Yes, candle-lit dinners with roses at fancy restaurants are romantic.

But how trying a new cuisine in an unfamiliar neighborhood?

That is exactly what dineL.A. aims for. You can pick from a list of participating restaurants organized by cookery and community, and get a discounted price (always a plus)!

4. USC Rose Garden

If you happen upon the USC area, there is a hidden Rose Garden on Exposition, next to the Natural History Museum. The garden is a beautiful vision of every color and perfect for a scenic date night (or day).

5. Gaze at the stars from Griffith Observatory

Ever dream of reliving La La Land? How about just stargazing in the most majestic venue ever? Bring your STAR to this date spot to shine bright like the sun.

6. Appreciate the art at the MOCA

If you and your boy/girlfriend enjoy appreciating art other than your faces, The Museum of Contemporary Art is one of the best museums LA has to offer.

7. Netflix & Take-Out

Sometimes, the best dates consist of just relaxing with your boo, watching some good Netflix. With some snacks, mood lighting, and cuddles, this might be all you need this Valentine's Day.

*Bonus*: Set up a cute scene in a tent for brownie points!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
