7 Gal Pal Or Bromance Dates To Plan With Your Bestie If You Are Single This Valentine's Day

Forget about making this Valentine's Day a Singles Awareness Day by going on a fun "date" with your bro or gal pal.

We have all been and probably currently are in this situation:

As a result, we do not have this problem:

If you are reading this, then one of two things is plausible. 1. You saw this article posted somewhere and decided to click on it. 2. You will be single this Valentine's Day just like I have been for the past nineteen years.

1. Girls'/Bros' night in

This one is pretty obvious. Pizza, baking, movies, popcorn, video games, you name it: doing fun activities with your pal on this day will help you to forget about how you aren't in relationships during this "romantic" time. Additionally, specifically to the ladies, don't be scared to pack on the calories! In a relationship or not, you have nobody to impress. It doesn't matter too much the amount of food you eat as long as you are healthy and happy with who you are.

2. Dinner and a movie

This one is for those friendships that are classy like Jay Gatsby. Dinner and a movie as a date was and still is something you would do if you wanted to treat somebody right. Be each other's "significant others" for the night but without all that mushy, romantic stuff.

3. Volunteer in your community

Volunteer at an animal shelter or a food pantry to help spread the love this Valentine's Day with the love of your life (for the time being, of course) right by your side. Show your platonic love for each other by sharing and helping the less fortunate and for those who do not get as much care as they deserve. Not only will this experience make you feel good, but it will also help to grow you and your BFF closer together.

4. Go to a coffee shop

Going to a local coffee shop is not only expensive, but it is also fun! It is an excellent opportunity to support a small, local business, and the workers there are always pleasant people. Not to mention, their pastries are usually delicious! With all that being said, my favorite order from my local coffee shop is an almond milk latte. I have only been to this place a few times and have just been with my cousin, who is also one of my closest friends. If you have a lot of spare money and live in a big city or a town with more than one local coffee shop, I would be completely thrilled if you would hit as many places as you can on Valentine's Day.

5. Steal your dog for the night

If you or your friend (who should have a dog if he or she doesn't already) is fortunate enough to live close to home, grab the dog and go for a walk or to the dog park. Everything is better with a dog. If neither is possible, then go to a dog shelter before they close for the night to see all of those beautiful faces that somehow do not have an owner. Be their owner for the night by giving them love, care, and treats.

6. Go shopping

Grocery shopping, shopping at the mall, going to CVS for a while to pick out gifts you would buy each other (or yourself) if you had money, you name it! Go shopping for a while to get in that much-needed girl or mab time. You don't have to buy anything, but it is always fun to look around. Maybe you will end up getting some food after your mall time in an attempt to cure your hunger for new clothes or hunting supplies.

7. Study

A study date should be productive, but hardly any of them are because you are with your gal pal or bro, your soul mate, your only one for the time being. Chances are, this date will end up being a date that is also called "watching Netflix in the library." In whatever it may result, just realize that it was completely worth it because you are hanging out with your best friend.

One more thing: at the end of the night, whatever you end up doing, do not forget to tell your "date" how much you love them and think they are beautiful.

Now, remember kids, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
