Dating In College Is Just As HARD As Exercising

Boys don’t magically become more mature from high school to college.

I know what you’re thinking ladies.

“Boys have to get more mature when they get into college!”

I hate to break it to you, but you’re wrong. Boys will never become more mature than a 12-year-old, no matter how they present themselves to you. I know you don’t want to hear it, but it’s true!

My mom says the same thing about my dad, and they have been married for nearly 25 years. He likes to argue with us just to laugh at our reactions. He’ll laugh at all the crude jokes in movies and don’t even get me started on his reaction to all of the memes on iFunny.

But my mom also knows that what my dad may lack in maturity, he makes up for in being a great husband and a great father.

I was in a relationship almost my entire high school career, and when we finally ended things, I realized how difficult it was trying to date again. The guys that wanted to date me were very immature and just wanted that one thing.

And when it came time for me to try and start dating in college…surprise! Boys haven’t gotten any more mature and still only want that one thing.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there are some guys that are smart, funny, and actually interested in your personality. But finding them is like trying to find that needle in a haystack.

My sister, who is now out of college and married, has talked about boys with me for as long as I can remember and has given me great advice that I think everyone needs to follow: “The right one will come along. You’ve just got to give it time. Enjoy spending time with friends and joining clubs, and focus on school work.”

Freshman year is the worst time to find a guy. They are out of the house, no one is able to control them, and they have a whole new pond of girls to fish in.

After freshman year, the majority of their antics begin to die down, and they finally begin to focus on what’s important. As my sister said, the right guy will come along eventually. We have to stop rushing romance and learn to let things go with the flow and happen naturally.

Boys will always be immature, but one day your prince charming will arrive, and it will be everything you've been waiting for.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
