A thousand year old question; why do we always find ourselves gravitating towards emotionally unavailable men? It seems to be a common theme that everyone experiences at least once or twice. And why is that?

It's not like any of us ever get anywhere with them, unless you're one of the lucky few who are able to break through. It's the equivalent of a guy being "friend-zoned", it's either a hole you can't climb out of or a brick wall that you can't pass through. So what exactly makes these emotionally unavailable men so alluring? I have a theory or two...

The first theory is that we love a good chase.

Nobody wants an easy game of falling in love, where's the fun in that? We want the challenge of love; the playful flirting and the curiosity of wondering where things will lead. No one has ever wanted to meet a guy and then immediately they both fall in love. Deep down, we all want it. We all want the building up stages of a romance. Emotionally unavailable men offer that to us. They give us the chance to wonder where their head is at and how they feel. They're mysterious creatures to us.

My second theory is that they're independent men.

They allow us to have our freedom within the relationship, or flirtation-ship. There's no need to text each other every single day, no nagging, no having to spend every waking minute of every single day together. Because these men are so detached, they allow us to do the same. We can be our individual selves while still being with them. I know that every single one of us has felt suffocated in a relationship at least once or twice. That's understandable because sometimes we just need room to breathe. Your world does not have to revolve around this individual and that's so important to your own mental health because it gives you the opportunity to also focus on yourself.

My third and final theory is that these men are truly the best guys to have in your life.

If you are lucky enough to capture the heart of one of them, you will be surprised at how loving and caring they truly are. They usually have reasoning behind their coldness and if you can break through that ice, they'll have you melting. It's just a matter of actually capturing the heart of one of them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
