Weddings are a happy occasion. It's all about two people joining together forever. And just as the world turned their heads almost 7 years ago, attention is getting put on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their royal wedding which will be May 19th. In light of another glorious wedding, let's take a look at Kate and William's wedding and some unknown facts from it!

1. Kate did her own makeup.

The Duchess took makeup lessons for a few weeks so she could perfect her own look for her big day!

2. William was sleep deprived.

Apparently, William only had about thirty minutes asleep the night before his wedding. The reason? A bunch of nerves and screaming fans outside his home. He says, "They were singing and cheering all night long, so the excitement of that, the nervousness of me and everyone singing, I slept for about half an hour."

How he managed to not fall asleep the rest of the day? I don't know.

3. Kate had two dresses.

Both dresses were designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Kate rocked both of them equally. The first one was for the ceremony and photos while the second one was for their evening reception.

4. Ellie Goulding sang at the reception.

Guests were treated to a two hour set of Ellie Goulding. She sang a cover of Elton John's, "Your Song" for Kate and William's first dance. She later said that she was, "so nervous, my hands were shaking."

5. Dancing lasted until 3 a.m.

Now that's what I call a royal wedding.

6. The entire wedding cost about 34 million.

I wonder how much Harry and Meghan will spend...

7. Prince William and Prince Harry's uniforms were sweat-proof.

They had to be specifically sweat-proof so they wouldn't overheat while in them throughout the event. Harry's uniform was also fixed with a little pocket so Kate's wedding ring wouldn't be lost.

8. A horse couldn't handle the royals matrimony.

A horse was frightened and couldn't handle itself when approached by William and Kate. It freaked as the couple traveled to Buckingham Palace and ended up throwing its rider and ran past the happy couple. No one was injured, and it's just a little blip in people's minds.

9. Kate and William were photobombed.

Kate and William were outshined by this little bridesmaid as they had their first kiss. She was not amused. But it was probably the best and most memorable part of the wedding.

10. William was included in the bouquet.

The flowers that made up her bouquet was hyacinth, lily of the valley, and sweet William, a cute nod to her husband.

11. Harry gave William Kate's ring.

After the death of their mother, Harry, and William got to choose a keepsake from her belongings. William picked his mother's watch while Harry chose her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Since William got engaged first, he offered it up to his brother to give to Kate as the two had agreed whoever got married first would get the ring.

If that doesn't bring warmth to your heart, I don't know what will.

12. William doesn't have a ring.

William decided to ditch the tradition and go ringless because he wasn't one for jewelry. The palace released an official statement before the wedding.

13. The floral budget was 1.1 million American dollars.

I mean, it looked gorgeous so it was probably worth all that money.

14. They left in a special car.

They left Buckingham Palace in Aston Martin that Prince William received for his 21st birthday. It was decorated with balloons and a customized license plate.

15. There was a 2-part reception.

First was a formal lunch hosted by the Queen herself, following an evening reception hosted by Kate and William. It was filled with eating, dancing, and drinking.

16. Fruitcake wedding cake.

I mean they are British after all. The top three tiers have been saved for future celebrations and have been served at their children's Christenings.

17. Kate had a blue ribbon sewn inside her dress.

Got to stick to that saying, 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.'

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
