In today's society, we hear a lot of young women complain about encountering "f*ckboys" but it's rare that we hear a guy speak out about this issue. Guys are often hesitant to express their opinions about their fellow males because they don't want to face backlash from their friends. So it's not surprising that, on the issue of f*ckboys, we seldom hear what they have to say.

That being said, I decided to reach out to some of my guy friends and ask them how they would define a f*ckboy. I also asked them how they feel overall about being guys amid what's inevitably become f*ckboy culture. And here's what they said:..

"To me, a f*ckboy is someone who prioritizes 'guy time' over anyone else's time...

They care more about their bros' feelings than those of their fellow females, who they see as useful only to help their egos and their sex drives. I also think f*ckboys are scarier in packs…like terrifying in packs. But I'd say too that every guy has a little bit of f*ckboy in them, and it's a bit intimidating and weird to think that I could be one of them." - Gabe

"I don't know why, but vaping and boat shoes immediately popped into my head when I think of the word f*ckboy...

I think they're just new wave assholes, like modern-day terrible men." - Micah

"A f*ckboy to me is a dude that cheats on girls and talks to multiple girls at once...

As a guy amid f*ckboy culture, I want and feel like I need to protect girls from them." - Goran

"I would define a f*ckboy as a guy who only thinks about girls and having one-night stands...

For me, it's harder to talk to girls because my parents always taught me to think about a girl more in terms of taking her out on dates and meeting her family, not just about her body. But sex isn't all I think about; I want a long-term relationship, and it's really hard to stand out with girls when they're bombarded with f*ckboys who just want them for sex. - Jared

"F*ckboys completely ruin the perception women have of the modern man, and they also completely ruin what guys think of themselves.

They treat women like sh*t and cripple their self-confidence even more than society already has. I'd define a f*ckboy as someone who solely cares about himself and his needs and about how to attain said needs—sex, money, and material goods." - Zach

"Our culture makes sex into something self-fulfilling, so f*ckboys just try to have sex with as many girls as possible.

These guys probably didn't have positive role models growing up and just want to be seen as 'cool.'" - Vincent

"My definition of a f*ckboy is a guy who actively and aggressively pursues multiple girls in a short period of time.

As a guy, I think that f*ckboys are so prevalent in today's dating scene that it sort of gives good dudes a bad reputation. It makes it harder to actually connect with a girl because they're trying to protect themselves from anyone who will just disregard their feelings— which is completely valid." - Demarius

It was really reassuring for me to talk with my guy friends and hear that they too are troubled by f*ckboys on the daily. Not all guys are bad guys, but somehow, the bad ones always stand out and are more memorable for all of the wrong reasons. It'll take some time, ladies, but you should try to be more optimistic; there are goodhearted men out there just waiting to call you theirs.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
