I'm Not Saying You Have To Ball Out, But Guys SHOULD Pay For Girls On The First Date

Two separate checks? Oh, no.

I'm Not Saying You Have To Ball Out, But Guys SHOULD Pay For Girls On The First Date

The dating game is becoming a difficult concept for me to understand lately. Today, people are either in a relationship, friends with benefits, or in between one of these situations. Dating has become so versatile that "dating rules" have seemed to have gone out of style. But listen here, gentlemen – chivalry is not dead.

Earlier this summer, I was talking to this boy I met on Bumble, and right away we hit it off. Of course, I had to comment on how cute and his cat was together. From there, we started to talk about every day. We'd Snapchat occasionally, but the one thing that never seemed to be available was the time to physically meet.

After talking for almost month, we had decided to give it a shot and finally meet in person, but of course, fate likes to play its game and prevent that from happening. Although we couldn't meet the first time we had planned to, we still continued to talk. That's what got me thinking, "Maybe he's into me."

From my own personal experiences with men, I have come to learn that most of them wouldn't try and reschedule a time to see if you they weren't interested.

As we continued to talk more and more, we finally got a chance to meet in person.

Since he was the one with a car, he drove two hours to come to visit me. That right there just showed that he must be into me right?

After hanging out that night, the next day we went to the best burger place known to man – IHOP. Everything was going smoothly. We were just talking and laughing and it seemed that we were both having a fairly decent time. But then, something happened.

The waitress brought over the check and said, "Here's your check. Did you want to put it all on one check or two?"

My "date" then goes, "Actually, can we get two separate checks?"

Now, when I say I was shook, I was SHOOK.

The laws of chivalry clearly state in Section A, Article 4 Subsection C that the man must pay for the woman on the first date.

Feel free to argue with me as much as you want, but I'm a catch. So, I feel that I deserve a nice little breakfast paid for in the full $15 including tip.

Him not paying for me doesn't make him a bad guy, but it definitely gave me the wrong impression about his intentions with me. Why didn't he pay for me? If he drove two hours to see me, why didn't he save an extra $20 to make sure he could properly take me out?

And this ladies and gentlemen are where I ask you what your stances on this are.

I'm not saying the man has to pay for the woman for every single date, but here's a tip for all of you men out there who are trying to impress a special lady: If you want to make a good first impression and not appear cheap, treat your girl right and buy her a nice meal. Food is the way to our hearts.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
