“Are you talking to other girls? Who are you talking to?”

That sounds like a jealous girlfriend.

Jealousy is a killer in a relationship. Sadly, people still choose to nurture this trait in the need to feel secure in the relationship. Being jealous of your partner can even backfire, they might take off because, well, jealousy is a problem.

When you are jealous of your partner, this tells that you are insecure. You don’t feel a sense of security that you are enough. You think that some girl is off stealing your man. Like when he doesn’t answer your text for an hour, you start plotting this idea he is cheating. The truth is people have a life they have to live, he will get back to you sooner or later.

It tells you that you don’t trust your partner. When you don’t trust your partner, it is hard to build a relationship. No matter how hard you both try, you will end up where you both were. It is going to feel like you both are running in a circle. You are going to have the same argument again and again. It is an endless loop.

There are many reasons why you have an issue with jealousy. Jealousy often emerges in a relationship mostly because of how the person does not feel secure about themselves and the relationship.

You feel threatened when someone or something goes near your partner. Not only people, you can also be jealous over your SO's obsession with the games they love to play, their job, school work and many others.

You want yourself to be the center of their life.

People can have a jealousy tendency toward their partner because of their past experience. Either that they have been cheated on, leaving their dignity shattered and feeling betrayed. Or their partner had more sexual partners. Or the fact that your partner had only been dating one person for a long time. Or your partner likes to flirt.

Anything can trigger someone’s jealousy tendency. It depends on YOU whether you want to act on your silly emotions or not.

Try to put yourself in your partner's shoe.

Think how it would make you feel if you were to be the jealous partner. You might think that your significant other is suffocating you. It is frustrating because it feels as if there is no way out.

Give yourself a favor, when you have jealousy thoughts, start to write them out and think back to the reality.

Being jealous will not make your partner more faithful or put more happiness in the relationship. Ask yourself, do you choose to act on your jealous emotions and lose your SO or save the relationship?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
