What would you do if you in this position?
The world collectively stood at a standstill on April 11 when photos and video evidence emerged of NBA player Tristan Thompson cheating on his pregnant girlfriend, Khloé Kardashian, a mere days before she was due to give birth to the couple's first child.
A media frenzy immediately engulfed around the expectant mother on what would be her decision regarding her relationship with the father, and in true Kardashian fashion, Khloé made even more headlines when she not only allowed Tristan to be present during the birth but actually took him back.
But would you do any different?
A Cosmopolitan article cites a close source saying “She’s so incredibly happy that her baby is here, that she is big and strong and healthy and beautiful, and so right now Khloé truly has no other cares in the world, she isn’t even mad at Tristan right now”.
She is now gaining even more backlash when she officially announced the birth of her daughter, named True, in a joint Instagram post with her and Tristan. Basically confirming the two are still together, and raising their baby together.
Khloé being an instrumental member of the Kardashian dynasty, is prone to public backlash when it comes to decision making, in fact, all of Hollywood's females are. A few months ago, rapper Cardi B was facing the same criticism when she decided to take back Migos member Offset when videos leaked of him cheating surfaced and now those two are expecting their first baby. Even Khloé ’s sister, Kourtney, has been through the ringer when for years it seemed like the entire world was waiting for her to dump her on again and off again boyfriend, Scott Dissick.
People critique these mothers for not having any “self-respect” by taking their men back, completely ignoring that they are just that; mothers.
Khloé is being the best mother she can be for her baby by staying with Tristan.
While she does not need a man to be able to raise her baby, she does need the emotional support. Studies show that babies develop better in a two-person household, and with this being Khloé's first child she needs all the hands she can get, regardless of the drama outside the household.
It is vital for a newborn to be surrounded by people who will love and support it, no matter the situation. Khloé herself needs to be also supported having just dealt with the trauma of giving birth.
Instead of tearing her apart we should be admiring her strength of being able to get through this incredibly difficult time to the best of her ability, and for the sake of her baby.
