Let Her Go, You Know She Deserves Better

If you don’t choose her right now, you don’t get to choose her later.

Delete her from your mind.

Remove her from your memories. You don’t get to see that goofy smile she makes every time you tell her those stupid jokes she loves so much. You don’t get to remember how it felt when she fell asleep on chest because it was in those moments when you felt like everything was going to be okay. You don’t get to remember how it felt waking up next to her every morning. Don’t.

Just don’t.

Don’t think of that time you showed up piss drunk at her place and she, tired as she was, stayed up all night just so you could get some rest sleeping in her lap. Don’t think of the countless times she brought you back food and coffee because she didn’t want you to go hungry or just because she knew no one had ever appreciated you. Don’t think about how perfectly her lips felt against yours. Forget it.

Just forget her.

Forget how she looks when she’s asleep. Forget how she clung onto you so tight in the middle of the night because she was scared to lose you. Forget how she looks in your clothes. Forget how your fingers feel in her hair. Forget all those looks she gives you. Forget that night you finally let her get a glimpse of what was tearing you apart, and how she held you afterward and assured you of the greatness she saw in you. Stop it.

Just stop.

Stop making promises you can’t keep. Stop brushing her off because you think she’ll always be around. Stop telling her that you miss her. Stop taking her for granted. Stop telling her that now isn’t the right time because there isn’t going to be a right time. She shouldn’t have to wait for that right time.

By doing this, you’re telling her that you don’t appreciate her. You’re telling her that she should stick around for something that may never happen. You see her as an option, and that you take her for granted. She’s just someone you talk to until someone better, more interesting, and prettier comes around. But she’s stuck around.

Stuck around, being loyal to you.

That’s what she’s been to you since you’ve met her. A constant source of happiness, an emotional crutch, a guarantee of stability. While you’ve just pulled yourself away looking for better and hiding from the truth.

“She is fire. You are ice, and you are afraid that her slow burn will smolder your cool, hard demeanor. That’s what has driven your decisions, your actions all along: fear. You are a coward. You are a hypocrite. You are terrified to let her go, but you are afraid she is too good for you, that she could drive you wild, that you would choke on her flames. That she is too much for you to handle right now.
"Right now.”

But if you don’t choose her right now, you don’t get to choose her later.

Quoted from this, by far one of my favorite pieces. I read it at least once a week. I was inspired by this piece and I wanted to write something similar! Keep this in mind ladies!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
