1. Somehow, sports talk always comes up

Whether it is a sports analogy, an anecdote on a player or just weekend plans, you can expect sports to come up in pretty much every single conversation.

2. Color pairs are always seen as their corresponding sports teams

Good luck picking out wedding colors because every pair of 2 colors corresponds to at least SOME sports team.

3. The rival name is never to be brought up

Just leave that topic off the table forever.

4. You have learned the difference between enjoying sports and ENJOYING SPORTS

I grew up watching sports here and there, I love baseball and I can watch basketball in the background and get into a game from time to time. I might as well DESPISE sports compared to my boyfriend.

5. He knows stuff about literally every sport

You thought he just loved football and basketball and baseball? HA.

6. And will watch it just like it's his favorite

I never knew we'd spend 3 hours watching a tennis tournament on TV, but there he was cheering and talking to the TV like it was the SuperBowl.

7. And apparently, his brain is just a container for weird sports knowledge

No, I didn't know what high school the 3rd string quarterback from a team I've never heard of went to. Thanks for sharing!

8. You know his team winning a championship will be happier than the day you get married

And oddly enough, you've somehow become entirely OK with it.

10. The games aren't always even the most exciting part

No no no. The games are only a part of it. The draft, the slam dunk contests, the home run derby. Everything is exciting.

11. He knows pretty much every player's name in every sport, and probably 3 facts about them

(You only know this because you say, "who's that guy" like, 15 times a half.)

12. You are not even close to knowing how to handle a tough loss

Because sometimes he's really upset, and sometimes he says, "well, they didn't play well so they deserve it. That's life!"

13. Some sport is ALWAYS in season

As soon as one ends, another begins. There's no offseason when your boyfriend likes every single sport.

14. There's always a super easy gift idea for him

Team apparel, sports paraphernalia... Easy peasy.

15. Your personal sports commentary is pretty much always bad

But you haven't given up trying to narrate the game.

16. Sometimes, game time is exciting because it means nap time for you

3 hour long game of 2 teams I don't care about? Don't mind if I am asleep the entire time.

17. You sometimes look up the score of a game he's watching to gauge his mood

If you're long distance or just not able to be together during a game, you check the score on your phone constantly to see if you should text him and check in or just allow him to bask in sadness.

18. You may have become a fan of his teams, too

I didn't have a loyalty to football and basketball, so I let his teams become my teams. (But not giving up my baseball team.)

19. Your family knows him as the "sports guy"

And they will ask him for a full-scale analysis of players, games, decisions, etc.

20. Any time you see someone supporting his teams, you think of him

Every time I see someone on campus wearing a Vikings shirt, I just think about my boyfriend.

21. Big games are great because they're an excuse to eat like sh*t

A couple of large pizzas? This is the side of sports that I can get behind.

22. He appreciates you even if you're not a crazy sports fanatic like himself

You knew he was a sports lover when you got into this, and he knew you... Weren't. He doesn't see it as a problem and doesn't wish he had a sports fanatic girlfriend instead of you. (You asked.)

23. And is actually quite understanding while fielding your 3,000 questions

He's always willing to explain things to you and doesn't get annoyed when you ask questions. He likes that you're trying to learn!

24. He can talk you into Fantasy Football or making a March Madness bracket

And the fun part is, you don't have to know that much about sports to do better than him.

25. He makes sports enjoyable for you, too

He knows it's not your 100% favorite thing to do, so he tries to make sports enjoyable for you as well.

26. Yeah, he loves sports a whole lot...

It is no secret at all.

27. ...But who are we kidding, he loves you at least a TINY little bit more!

You have bypassed the love of sports if even by a nose, and you've learned to love how much he loves sports, too!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
