When you get a significant other it's easy to want to drop everything to see them. However, making your SO your whole life is a big mistake and will leave you dependent on them. Just like everything else in life you need balance when it comes to your relationship. Here are the 7 things you should never drop for your SO.

1. Friends

Friends are the people that will be there to answer your calls no matter the time of day and will truly have your back even after your relationship is over you can't probably say the same about your so so don't start isolating yourself from your friends when they're the true ride or dies

2. Work

No one is worth giving up your finances for if they can't handle you being at work they can't handle a relationship

3. Activities you love

Don't become that person whose whole life revolves around their so. Stay true to yourself and your life and keep doing the things you love to learn how to balance your time instead of becoming a shell of your former self

4. Family

Unless your family is toxic there is no reason to choose your significant other over them. Family is important so don't start ignoring your mom or canceling plans with your father last minute just because you're dating someone

5. A healthy lifestyle

Don't let your relationship ruin your healthy lifestyle you're health is more important and they'll understand if you want to take time to go to the gym or would rather stay in and cook a healthy meal than going out all the time. Don't feel like you can't put your needs as a priority just cause your dating someone

6. Your dreams

You only live once and you don't want to look back and wish you would have done something but didn't because you were dating someone that you might not even still be with.

7. Your education

If you truly want an education don't let love stop you from reviving it someone who truly loved and values you won't ask you to compromise something as big as this.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
