Being a hopeless romantic in a culture that belittles those in love is rough. And if you're in love with the idea of love, you are not alone. Being a hopeless romantic stuck in a hookup culture is the most frustrating thing, ever. We're just out here trying to find our soulmates. If you're a hopeless romantic you understand these problems like nobody else:

1. Online dating isn't for you

Your friends encourage you to try to meet someone online and you roll your eyes so hard it that it almost hurts. Sure, there are tons of people who have met amazing people online. It's totally normal and could be just as romantic, but it's not what you had imagined. You've planned to meet your soulmate in a super cute spilled-my-bag-of-apples-at-Publix kinda of way. If you're a hopeless romantic, then chances are Tinder and Bumble aren't words you use very often. It's hard to meet your soul mate when you want that cute and romantic meeting.

2. You wear your heart on your sleeve

Wearing your heart isn't a bad thing, it's genuine and pure. But wearing your heart on sleeve means catching feelings easily and getting your heart broken one too many times. Yeah, it hurts, but never stop giving your heart to those who deserve it.

3. You get way too invested

Either you get way to invested in romantic lives of fictional characters. *ahem* Nick and Jess, Pam and Jim.

4. You're constantly searching for "the one"

Blah blah blah blah hearing that makes you want to scream. I can't help it, Susan. I am always looking. Always walking into the coffee shop thinking maybe I'll meet my soulmate today while sipping on my venti berry refresher.

5. You already have your wedding planned

Admit it, you already have a Pinterest board for your future wedding. Better yet, your future wedding with someone who you have not yet met.
To all my hopeless romantics out there, never stop being in love with love. XO

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
