1. He probably stopped caring before you did.

I know it’s a sad reality, but he probably ended the relationship in his head before he ended it with you. There’s no reason to be hanging on to something that isn’t there.

2. You're better off without him.

How many things did you stop doing or stop yourself from doing because you were in a relationship? Honey, go hike that mountain, try that new type of food, spend all day in bed. Do something that makes you happy.

3. The best has yet to come.

If things didn’t work out, it’s probably for a reason. Something better is coming your way, so get over this one that didn’t work out. It's something to celebrate, am I right?

4. He doesn't deserve you.

Did you start wearing makeup, changing the way you dress or become his second mother? Now that you’re gone, he might be realizing all of these things you did for him. Needless to say, use your energy doing something else to benefit you.

5. This too shall pass.

I can guarantee that you probably have survived something much worse than this, and you survived that. Therefore, keep in mind that this will get better, and you can do it. The best and worst days of your life haven’t happened yet, so let's try not to make this one of them.

6. He's not that cute.

Yeah, I know that you think he’s the sun, moon, and the stars right now, but when you’re walking down the aisle looking at your future husband- that man will be your universe.

7. God has a better plan

He really does, in the grand scheme of things. This is just a little bump in the long road of your life. God is truly in control, and he will carry you through this.

8. A piece of cheesecake is probably better.

I know this sounds harsh, but most of the time, a piece of cheesecake will usually make me happier than a boy ever will.

9. He wasn't protecting your heart.

Men are created by God to protect your heart, sis. If he has you feeling like you ripped a whole layer of skin was ripped off you, he’s not the one. Your heart will be in good hands when you find the person designed to protect it.

10. He wasn't there when you needed him.

I know it’s obvious, but his reliability in a physical or emotional way wasn’t 100%. You deserve someone who’s there for you all of the time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
