Valentine's day is a great day of celebration, joy, and most important, love. One thing that we need to remember this Valentine's Day is to be grateful for the one who we are blessed enough to love. This Valentine's Day, celebrate your appreciation for each other. Find joy and contentment in the little things that life throws your way simply because you get to endure those things with the one you love. Falling deep in love with someone is a special thing, so remember to be grateful for all the things, big or small.

1. He makes you laugh.

In hard times, in the most awkward moments, and even in those silent moments when you are not supposed to laugh your face off, you can always know that he will be the one to make you feel all the good that life has to offer. Placing a smile on your face stretching from cheek to cheek is a rare talent that only his has the power of doing.

2. He comforts you.

He understands you and knows your soul; along with this comes the responsibility of knowing how to comfort you and make hard times more bearable, and he is a pro at this. Whether it is a tight hug, words of encouragement, cuddles, or some distance, he has just the right remedy to bandage your heart back together.

3. He sacrifices his sleep to listen to your late night talks.

We all know how important sleep is to the human body and yet he constantly sacrifices this necessity of life in order to listen to you rant for a few more minutes or hear you laugh one more time. Sacrificing sleep for time and memories is true love.

4. He studies with you.

He desires for you to succeed and be successful. When you are stressed right before that big test, he takes time to make sure you understand every single detail. This is great because he does a great job at speaking your language so he can make the material way easier to understand. And even when studying is the last thing you want to do that night, he will make it so that it is the only thing you can do, because he loves you.

5. He gives the best hugs.

No matter where, when, or why, his hugs always hit just the right spot with your heart. Sometimes you feel that his hugs could even cure world hunger or make all your nightmares flee.

6. He buys you food.

Food, AKA the window to your soul and he knows just how to unlock that window with a warm cup of queso from Taco Mama or some refreshing double chocolate brownie ice cream from your besties Ben & Jerry.

7. He believes in you.

He makes it clear to you how much he believes in you and your abilities, even when you are feeling insecure and are unable to believe the truth that he is reminding you of. He pushes you to higher standards and encourages you to try your best. He is there to celebrate with you when you get an A on a microeconomics test, and he is still right there to pick you up and remind you how smart you are when you fail that calculus test.

8. He loves you unconditionally.

Yes, I mean unconditionally. He loves you even when your toenail is about to fall off or when you just can't seem to get your emotions under control. He loves you at your highest highs as well as your lowest lows.

9. He always has your back.

Yes, even when you are totally in the wrong he will have your back until the end. Even if you believe that the world is flat or that spiders are satan in disguise, he will back you up. He is one of the most supportive person in your life. He constantly loves you even when you cannot seem to love yourself and he constantly believes in you even when you feel that the world is against you and all you are worth is failure.

10. He makes everyday special.

Every day, everything, every way, he has a talent for making it special. He makes the distance feel like nothing. Just having him in your life makes your average day a special day. Thanks for always making all my days special, Valentine's Day or normal day. For the surprises, smiles, cuddles, and love.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
