Broken hearts are inevitable, but that doesn't make them any more bearable. Whether the breakup was mutual or one-sided, losing someone that you thought was special hurts. It just sucks. Personally, I've had one monumental breakup and the heartbreak altered me (for the better, but still, I've changed).

Therefore, surrounding yourself with friends is essential during this tumultuous time as they provide support, love, and give the best of the best mom-advice.

You are beautiful

Genuine compliments go a long way. Sometimes you need to hear it from others before you begin to believe and say it yourself.

It wasn't meant to be

There's a reason you weren't meant to be together and there's no way around it except acceptance.

I have pizza and ice cream and chocolate!

Snacks are always the answer.

Surround yourself with positives

There's nothing wrong with feeling lonely and moping around from time to time, but, in general, make sure to experience good vibes and positive juju by encircling yourself with happy people and joyful opportunities.

There's someone else out there for you

It's hard to hear, especially when you cared for one specific individual, but, one day, you will find your person.

We need some Adele

Grab a glass of wine, snuggle on the couch, and prepare for the emotions to flow.

Let's find some puppies

Puppies! Tons of puppies! There is no way you can be wholly sad when you have puppies jumping all over you. Pet therapy is a true and tested method that is bound to help you crack a smile.

Let's point out everything that was wrong with your ex

Until you finally realize that they're not worth all this angst.

Rant on and on and on

Just continue into a tirade about them or life or whatever you need. Letting it all out helps and being angry is okay.

Focus on loving yourself before depending on others for love

Being content with your own independence can be a struggle, but it's worth it in the end.

Distract distract distract

Stay busy! Do all the things you never had time to do and fully immerse yourself in them.

Blessing in disguise

In some ways your life will change, but you don't have to be afraid, it only gets better from here.

Take this time to be selfish

Prioritize yourself: do what's best for you! If you have to block your ex to move on, by all means, go for it! Delete everything. I mean everything: from pictures and videos to anything on social media.

You deserve all the love in the world and to be treated right

There is someone out there who will treat you the way you deserve to be taken care of, and you will find one another.

Every emotion was and is valid

Every emotion you feel now and every and any feeling you felt during your relationship is and was true. It may not have ended well, but that doesn't mean you didn't have happy moments. No one is denying that.

Stand tall, but cry if you need to

You have everything you need to be confident, but there's nothing wrong with letting your feelings out and having a healthy crying session. Even if the breakup was for the best, it's okay to take your needed time to grieve.

Let’s take a trip!

Get out of your surroundings and have fun with your best friends!

Time to snuggle and watch funny videos

Laughing is the best medicine, so grab a blanket, get comfortable, and watch a comedy or some hilarious YouTube videos.

Dance and sing it out

As Taylor Swift would say, "Shake It Off!" and release those happy hormones.

Post breakup glow-ups are real

Focus on developing yourself as an individual and, trust me, it will all come together.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
