If You Were The Girl Who Wasn't Given Enough Clarity When You Broke Up, Know You Deserve Better

You deserve more than just a basic "it's over" text

It's been awhile since "that" breakup, and there's still a million questions running through your head.

Did I do something wrong?

Was there something I could've said or done?

Was I not enough for him?

Being left brokenhearted with a poor explanation is the worst feeling anyone can experience. You're left questioning and thinking of the "what-ifs", which only creates more stress. Your mind is constantly in the past, reflecting on how everything happened, which only makes your heart hurt more.

You might even be wishing that you could still be with him, regardless of how he treated you, which could only make you feel even more worthless because deep inside you know that you shouldn't be wasting your tears over this.

But that's just it. He doesn't deserve your tears. And he doesn't deserve you.

A guy leaving you with little to no valid reasoning on why he wants to end things just proves more about his character than yours. He wasn't able to own up and be courageous to say how he was truly feeling, which is possible for any guy out there. And at the end of the day, you deserve the truth.

Although the truth can be scary sometimes, it's something that is truly valuable and can drastically affect any given situation. Had he honestly told you why he couldn't be with you, it's possible by now that you could've found peace with the situation and moved on with an open mind.

If he was honest about his feelings and his intentions, you could be able to move forward by looking at what he thought wasn't working and take that into account for future relationships.

You can spend countless hours reflecting on the entire situation and still be left with no conclusion, but at the end of the day, why waste your time on him?

Why waste time trying to figure out the boy that left you with no valid reason, no clarity, and most importantly, no honesty?

Why give him that satisfaction of knowing that he is still in your life and affecting you, and that you can't get him off of your mind? He doesn't deserve any of these things, so why even bother?

Don't let this experience undermine you and your self worth. What he says or decides to do does not reflect who you are. With or without him, you are amazing, strong, and beautiful in so many ways. One boy out of millions should not be able to change that.

I'm not going to lie: it's extremely difficult to completely erase him and all of your thoughts about him out of your mind, especially if you two were already friends beforehand. Letting someone go that left an imprint on your life is a huge life change, and it's impossible for anyone to easily and quickly adapt to that change. But if he is toxic to your life and is making you this stressed out or upset, then it's time to make that change and cut them out of your life for your own benefit.

Yes, this feeling sucks, and it might feel like it will never go away, or that you will never get him out of your head. But don't ever forget this: you deserve better.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
