I would hope we all know where babies come from. Well, I certainly do. My parents and I are avid movie watchers, and we love bonding over movies and spending time together as a family watching them.

However, some of the movies we watch evidently have sex scenes in them. While I am an adult, and my parents clearly are as well, I still always manage to cringe whenever a sex scene comes on the screen, and I am sitting next to my parents. It’s usually less awkward with my mom because we’re both women, but my dad still pictures me as a little girl even though I’m 21.

Therefore, it is horrifying for those 30 seconds to 1 minute that I must suffer through watching the sex scene with my parents.

Have no fear because there are other things that I’d rather do than watch the sex scene with my parents sitting next to me…

1. Skinny dip in a polar bear’s bathtub

2. Walk around all day with toilet paper stuck to my shoe

3. Wear my bra over my shirt and my underwear over my pants

4. Be glued to a chair for a whole week

5. Bunk with a squirrel in a tree for a month

6. Clean up after my roommate (That’s not sooooooooo bad)

7. Birth someone else’s child (I am guessing that even birthing one’s own isn't such a joy always)

8. Live in that RV that Eliza Thornberry lives in and talk to animals in hopes of not being attacked

9. Share the last cookie

10. Watch my boyfriend’s favorite TV show

11. Dress a llama in pajamas

12. Be sent to jail for vandalizing Donald Trump’s White House

13. Eat chicken every day for the rest of my life

14. Have Mariah Carey sing “All I want for Christmas is You” off key in my ear

15. Have toenails so sharp that my socks rip

16. Pole dance in a firehouse

17. Juggle cantaloupes as a hobby

Okay, maybe I’ve exaggerated a bit. Perhaps, watching a sex scene in a film with my parents isn't complete torture. You’ve got to admit that some of the activities that I’ve listed sound amusing and could be worth a try for comedic purposes. Sex scenes in movies aren’t so bad. After all, how else would you be able to watch sex scenes in movies if sex scenes didn’t exist in real life?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
