You know exactly what kind of friend I'm talking about.
You start to like a guy but know nothing about him except for (maybe) a first name. With only five minutes and a couple of button-clicks, your friend has found out everything.
And I mean everything.
High school, sister's name, sister's best friend, sister's best friend's boyfriend (That, though, might be his friend, too, but no one really knows...) You name it, the girls have found it.
These friends have a special talent that can never be replaced. Because of this special talent, you are forced into crazy, uncomfortable situations with your crush, like following him on Instagram and praying for a follow back.
Even though your friends annoy you when you have a crush, you couldn't get through it without them. It's time to thank them for their skills.
1. When they find the initial dirt, and you are perplexed at how quickly they did it
I don't know whether to be creeped out or excited right now... But in any case, bravo.
2. When they scroll through his Instagram just to see if there's a girl in any of the pictures
"Found one. Crap. Oh wait, that's his cousin!" *screams*
3. When they start planning your wedding for you based on his social media profiles
"He likes country music. You're meant to be. Thomas Rhett can sing at your wedding! I'll give the best drunk-toast ever!" Um, excuse me, who said anything about marriage?
4. The eyes they give you when he's within ten feet of you
"Don't turn around, but he may or may not be right behind you." And you knew he'd be here, because you know he's here all the time.
5. When they steal your phone to follow him on every social media platform
"Great, now we wait for him to fall in love with you." I don't think that's how it works...
6. When (if) he follows back
"You're welcome!" Um, thank you?
7. If you end up talking and you slide into his DMs
If anyone's going to hype you up for shooting your shot, it's the friend(s) that made it possible.
8. If things go south and he breaks your heart
You don't need him anyway. You'll always have your friends.
But, let's not forget, it wouldn't be the true experience of having a crush if your friends didn't become overly involved.
