From The Girl Trying To Date In 2019, A Non-Dating World

There is too much in between.

Dating now is not the same as it used to be.

Boys rarely formally ask a girl out on a date. They would rather just send a quick text telling them to come over to their bedroom — to make it even better not even walking them to their door after using them as their sexual muse.

When going actually on a date, boys rarely knock on a girl's door. They would rather just send a quick text saying “here" and lazily sit in their car waiting for her to come outside to him.

Here is a tip: get out of your car, knock on her front door, walk her to your car, open and close her car door for her. The smallest gestures mean the most.

Now everyone is “talking," but what exactly is “talking"? There is too much of a gray area in relationships now. None of this generation wants to commit to relationships. They are terrified of the thought of forever and do not want to have to commit to just one person while they are getting attention from numerous people, but there will always be that one special person out of them all. Both of you, deep down, know that what there is between you two is real. You are both just too afraid to admit to it-- to see how wonderful an actual relationship could be. I do not know why everyone holds themselves back and lives in the "what could be" instead of living in the "what it is."

There always seems to be one person in a “talking" relationship who truly cares for the other person. This always ends up with at least one person broken hearted.

A viciously endless cycle has been formed due to all of them. It always starts off with a good girl and a good guy, but someone down the line good becomes bad. In a situation when a good girl becomes bad she ends up messing up the good guy and turning him into a jerk. On the other hand, when a good guy becomes bad he ends up messing up the good girl and turning her into a slut. Over time good girls will fall for jerks and good guys will fall for sluts leading to the downfall of today's relationships. This cycle never ends.

There is no gender to specifically be at fault for these kinds of situations. It is a generational fault. We live in a generation of casual sex, hookups, and “talking" rather than love, commitment, and relationship. The only way to stop this is to make the change for yourself.

Do not be the 2 a.m. booty call.

Ask your crush out on an actual date.

I promise, in the end, it will all be worth it to

try to date in a non-dating world.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
