First of all, why? I mean, zero judgment of course but how do you have a limited amount of social media? Even children have social media accounts these days.

So here’s the story: you meet a great guy/gal and you hit it off. Everything is going great, and to put the icing on the cake, you even get their number. Internally you’re freaking out. But then, hold on, you don’t know a damn thing about them. It, of course, is ideal to just ask them questions but really, you just have to do some research on your own. The second you get a name it’s searched on all kinds of social media platforms but you find none.

What the hell do you do?

How do you get information on this potential love interest? You go Inspector Gadget on their ass. And of course, you have to call in the reinforcements

1. You need their name.

If they are a potential love interest, I would hope you at least know their name. First and last is ideal, but just the first name can be worked with. Even a nickname is acceptable.

2. Find at least one social media account of theirs.

This person has to at least have one social media account- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat. Snapchat might be a little hard. Hell, even try tinder if you need to. Chances are, Facebook and Instagram will be your best bet.

I don’t really know how to feel about Tinder, if he/she is on there - but it’s worth a shot.

3. Look up possible mutual friends (if any).

There has to be at least one mutual friend with this person, literally anyone they might interact with that you know. Chances are they at least follow them on Instagram. You literally have to think of any possible form to find a social media page and get some recon on this person.

It’s a hell of a lot better than going around asking people for information.

4. Look at tagged photos.

Once you find their Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, it’s almost an obligation to go through their tagged photos. He/she might look really attractive on their page and/or in person, but wait until you see their tagged photos. It’s like going into uncharted territory. It’s a necessary evil.

But it’s all part of the process guys.

5. Search names of his/her friends on social media

Searching through the tagged photos leads to the social media pages of other people – hopefully, friends that DO have all kinds of social media accounts and are easier to come by. Here you can find all kinds of stuff, this potential love interest has to be mentioned somewhere at least once or twice.

6. Call in ALL reinforcements.

Finally, you have to call in the reinforcements. Those two best friends you have that always help you find information on someone or something. These friends are essential. With multiple people, the recon will fly by and chances are you’ll find dirt on the person faster than the FBI.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
